Bombers Bounce Back With Emphatic Win Over Bulldogs

Essendon Rebounds From Horror Showing

Bombers Dominate On-Ball Division

Essendon has rebounded from last week's horror showing in emphatic style, defeating the Western Bulldogs by 29 points at Marvel Stadium. The Bombers were humiliated by Port Adelaide last week, but they responded with a dominant performance against the Bulldogs.

Essendon's on-ball division was particularly impressive, with Darcy Parish, Zach Merrett, and Dylan Shiel all having standout games. Parish had 32 disposals and 10 tackles, while Merrett had 29 disposals and eight tackles. Shiel was also influential with 26 disposals and two goals.

The Bombers' victory was set up in the first half, as they kicked five goals to two. They extended their lead in the second half, kicking five goals to three in the third quarter and four goals to one in the final term.

Jake Stringer was Essendon's leading goalkicker with four goals, while Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Peter Wright both kicked two goals.

The Bulldogs were led by Caleb Daniel, who had 28 disposals and seven tackles. Marcus Bontempelli was also good with 24 disposals and two goals, but he was well held by Essendon's defense.

The win takes Essendon to a 3-2 record for the season, while the Bulldogs drop to 2-3.
